First stop in San Gimignano, a small walled village famous for its medieval architecture and towers that create a unique skyline, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In San Giminiano you will have the opportunity to taste Chianti Wine (2 Wines). Lunch on your own to taste local specialities. Then continue to Siena, an enchanting medieval city built over three hills. Take a walk to explore the city famous for its Palio, a horserace which contains the aim of this city. Discover Piazza del Campo, the huge central plaza where the Roman Forum used to be, now site of the famous Horserace of Palio, and the Basilica of St. Dominic. Finally you will reach Monteriggioni, a charming and walled medieval town, which represents one of the most important walled castles in the territory. It has incredibly preserved an intact structure as if time had never passed on the hill from which it elegantly dominates the surrounding landscape. After a precious itinerary by train through this breathtaking landscape, you will have the opportunity with your Cinque Terre Daily Card, to explore on your own this worldwide famous area. You will admire the breathtaking scenery of the Ligurian Coast, rightfully nominated UNESCO World Heritage Site. These enchanting five villages are nestled into the cliffs overlooking the sea, surrounded by vineyards, producing some of Ligura’s most celebrated wines. You will start in Monterosso, the largest village of the Cinque Terre and the only one with the beach, and from there board your train (the only mean of transportation as cars were banned over a decade ago) to Vernazza, the pearl of Cinque Terre. Explore the maze of its alleys and enjoy the stunning view of the village from the hiking path leading to Monterosso. Hop on the train again and continue to Riomaggiore for lunch on your own at a local restaurant. In the afternoon walk along the panoramic footpath that leads from the new part of the village to its historical center and from there enjoy a view of the Via dell'Amore, the "Lover's Lane", the most famous and romantic stretch of the Cinque Terre coastline. Arrival to Manarola, Cinque Terre's smallest village. Board on your train and reach La Spezia. Afterwards transfer back to Florence.

The first settlements are traced back to the Romans who used the marble from nearby quarries for the construction of monuments.
